Hate's Roots and Remedies

There are three primary causes of hatred. Resentment, Fear, and disgust. Resentment is probably the most common cause of hate, but disgust is by far the most lethal. You can respect what you fear, even if you hate it, and avoid the dangers of it, and resentment is usually directed at things equal to or more powerful than the resentful person, but disgust can lead you to harm even harmless things and people and dehumanize or devalue them into almost nothing in terms of value and treat them as if it were an imperative and moral good to Eradicate them from the world.

Disgust hatred is the most lethal because of this.

There are a few ways to combat the three main causes of hatred. For resentment, the best measure to take against it before it leads to hate is forgiveness. Letting go, moving on from the wrong, detaching yourself from the bitterness of the situation, and, if it becomes possible, a mediation, compromise, and reparation in the situation. Understanding the causes and nature of the situation is another method of combat against resentment and its hatred that is brewed from it.

For fear, understanding the cause of the fear and comprehending both how to defend against the threat and the nature of the being, structure, or composition of it helps alleviate the fear and reassures the frightened of how to defend against it. Compassion is also a massive aid in combating fear and its hatred. compassion, empathy, and love prevent you from succumbing to the destructive intentions and behavior that happens when you are afraid of something. all of these prevent you from succumbing to the malice and hate that fear (and disgust and resentment) can and does bring.

For disgust, understanding, a strong stomach and faculty regarding the grossness and revulsion that constitutes disgusting things, and compassion for the person who unintentionally causes disgust (and if you are strong enough and patient enough to do this...compassion for the ones who did an intentional thing that causes disgust and its hatred) are the best way to overcome disgust and its hate. disgust is a manageable and overcomeable emotion and reaction. Doctors and emergency responders manage it all the time before it leads to its particularly lethal hate. Disgust inhibits understanding, and so does fear and resentment and all the hate they cause, and when you can't understand something, you can't repair something, heal something, or solve and resolve something. Disgust may be the hardest of these "causes" to overcome and manage, especially when it comes from intentional acts of others, but if you can you are able to move through life more comfortably and solve problems more easily. Overcoming hatred in general and all of its causes and roots help you do this.
