The Perfect Nemesis

In the broad scheme of things, everything gets accounted for, and every imbalance corrected. I believe wholeheartedly that in terms of higher authorities and the divine, there are truly no secrets  from God. He knows all the backroom conversations, all the hidden crimes, all the atrocities, and all violations committed against Him and His law. He sees and hears everything because He is everywhere. No part of His creation escapes His awareness.

Nemesis is a concept that stems from Greek mythology, and it is defined as "the inescapable agent of someone or something's downfall." In the Greek legends, Nemesis was usually summoned by hubris...an arrogance or conceit that offended the gods and required a punishing or correcting. Nemesis was a deity, a goddess who would bring about divine retribution on those who crossed a line ethically or morally or who had undeserved fortune.

The concept of Nemesis is tied into the idea of justice being a matter of balance and imbalance. When balanced, justice is in harmony with existence and things are "the way they are supposed to be."

When imbalanced, a correction is required, because an imbalance threatens the order and harmony of the system as a whole. Nemesis is what corrects the imbalance, or repays an injustice. In Greek legends, sometimes it took generations for an offence or violation to be repaid or corrected. "Nemesis is notoriously slow" as an old saying goes.

What often summons the most potent of nemeses is when an extremely bad crime or violation, like an atrocity, is never brought to justice by the world's authorities and the perpetrators operate with impunity...they get away with it and no one was held to account.

It's as if the injustice of what happened disturbs the fabric of reality, and the resulting resentment fuels a truly brutal nemesis that hits with a vengeance (pun intended) that just bludgeons the offender, even if it took years, decades, or even centuries to be fulfilled.

As I said, nothing goes unseen or unheard here by forces and authorities far beyond just humans. You often don't know who else, or what else, is observing the situation.

We've seen this in stories that have gotten a lot of publicity, where a crime took place over years or decades and was just brushed over and covered up until it built up and festered and then blew up even worse than had the situation been nipped in the butt from the beginning, like what happened at Penn State a decade ago or so.

It's better to correct an imbalance and remedy an injustice while its still fresh than to let it build up and blow up even worse later on. Though this isn't quite Greek mythology, I believe the concept of nemesis is a very real thing, regardless of its mysticism or spiritual connotations, and I think it gets summoned all the time.

I noticed that the nemesis is often proportional to the egregiousness of what summoned it, and it may be slow at times, but the universe is about balance and justice, and all imbalances are eventually brought back to balance, regardless of how long it takes to do so. The perfect nemesis does exactly that.
