The Courtyard of the Palace

There were dances there.

Children singing in the spring without a care

Statues of marble and gold of the heroes of old

Slaying dragons

Saving maidens

The gardens in the courtyard

Produced fruits and produce for the feasts

Held in the palace of the King

The King of all things

The courtyard was sacred

A place of wonder and faith

Nothing was broken there

No rot or decay

No pain or dismay

No hate, no dark fate

Just lush grass

Flawless pavement

Fields to play ball

Walked through freely

By one who is Lord of all

The palace was domed

Thousands of special souls

Call His palace home

This King knows

All the dreams and hopes

Of each one of those souls

And they dream

And they play

Endless dreams

Endless days
