Nothing to Warrant the Hate

There are things in this world that attract such a hate, such a fear, that is so irrational it borders on insanity. There are things that I never understood how they could warrant such hatred. Even the sins, weaknesses and shortcomings that are wrong shouldn't be seen as inherent, condemnable, or irredeemable.

The whole message of the cross is redemption, mercy, and grace yet so many people, both christians and non-christians alike, harbor so much hatred towards people for traits they can't control or sins that are forgiven so easily its like washing mud from a hand

Hate itself is a darkness. A poison that turns otherwise sensible people into monsters. Hate  from my perspective, is more condemnable than weakness or mistakes. If you harbor hatred against the innocent, the sick, the sinner, or the weak, I feel you will find yourself more quickly judged or possibly condemned by God far more then the target of your hate. Even so, God's mercy and grace extends infinitely past my understanding.

He can have mercy on whoever he pleases

I've got some traits about me that are condemnable in the eyes of many believers. I have traits that would have gotten me killed in places in this country even up to the last 30 years. I've had hate thrown at me. I've had judgement passed on me. I've had people condemn me for what they saw as my sins and shortcomings. To hell with those people, pun intended.

I know where I stand with Jesus.

Condemnation, when it comes from people who sin just as much as you and have made just as many mistakes as you is laughable at best and brazenly hypocritical at worst. Sinners who condemn and judge cannot understand mercy, or grace. There is no mercy or grace in condemnation that comes from a sinner. A flawed person cannot judge flawlessly. Only God can judge on that level.

As for me and my sins? They are paid for. I'll always struggle with a lot of them, but God's mercy is new every morning.

I must confess and make this statement there are some sins, some traits, and some shortcomings that absolutely do not warrant the hate that follows them. Absolutely not. Hate never heals the sick, strengthens the weak, or forgives the sinner. It kills them. Only love does those things.

It's amazing how so many people miss just some of the basic lessons of God. Even those who claim to believe in Him.

Hate is a darkness, and darkness knows neither mercy nor truth.
