2021 New Years Resolution

So last year, about this time, I wrote "new decade's resolution" talking about how I was going to maximize to the greatest possible extent conceivable to the human imagination the degree of liberty I can have in life over the course of the next decade.

This year, as 2020 draws to a close, a year that was much better for me then it was for 96.731% of humanity, I am going to revise my resolution a little bit.

Here is the 10 things I am going to try to achieve in the next year (and in the rest of my life).

1. I am going to try to maximize to the greatest possible extent conceivable to the human imagination the amount of love and loyalty I have for Jesus Christ, the Creator of all things, and I am going to do my best over the course of the next year to try and say and do things that bring glory to God.

2.  Try to be of service to other people. Try my best to make the lives of the people of my community, my friends and family as pleasant and as respectful as they can be.

3. Try my best to reduce my negativity and cynicism and maintain a positive outlook even in the midst of suffering and difficulty. I think it is important for me to try to focus on the positive and the bright side of life.

4. Try to look at life through God's perspective, not just my own, and try to be a healer and a helper instead of a self-server and taker.

 5. Try my best to move on from my past and let go of the pain and resentment of my failures and disappointments.

6. Continue to strive for a better life, and attempt to live a life that would make my family, friends, and Jesus proud of who I am and what I have done.

7. Stand up for those who have been treated unfairly, those who have been counted out and counted as lost causes by society or the world, and those who have been condemned in the eyes of people for things that were not their fault.

8. Try my best to tell the truth as much as possible. Honesty is the way out of the snares of sin and addiction, and honesty will eventually lead you to Christ. "For you shall know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free." John 8:32

9: Try my best, all the time, at every turn and event in my life, tragedy, triumph, or otherwise, to just do the right thing. Just doing the right thing to do will always lead to a positive outcome, either in this life or eternity.

10. Lastly, and most importantly, find a way to find joy and peace in my life, knowing that God's Liberty and God's Love will never be deprived of me permanently. As an heir to God's Kingdom, bought by His Son's blood and my sins and mistakes paid for by His sacrifice, I will never be eternally deprived of Jesus' gifts of Liberty, Love, and Glory even if in this life I may be deprived of freedoms and security for a period of time. God loves me even if I am starving, even if I am in a cage, and even if I am being tortured or violated. His love doesn't stop when my suffering starts. I can't forget that. In fact, from my my viewpoint, its during tribulation that God's love grows stronger for me.

There you have it. A revised new years resolution.

Good night.
