Cryptology, Coding, and the Absolute Language of Existence
Code is any physical system of symbols, sounds, textures, or other substantial sensory stimuli that stores information that has a particular meaning or purpose. The information stored within code has a particular function or application in a given context or situation.
Given this definition, pretty much every form of language is a code, whether that be English, mathematical proofs, Python code or software code in general. Anything with symbols, substances, and syllables that carry a weight of either abstract or concrete/physical meaning or describes the purpose and function of something is essentially code.
The words "code" and "cryptology" usually has the connotation of secrecy or a clandestine nature to it, but to someone who doesn't speak english, understand Egyptian hieroglyphics, or the mathematical description of quantum field theory, all these forms of information are essentially encrypted code, because you, as the audience that doesn't share in the language, cannot understand the language and are left at status of a novice learner.
Any language is an encrypted code to someone who doesn't understand the language they are being exposed to, and it can take months or even years to become fluent in certain languages, whether that be a spoken language, a new writing system, mathematical language, computer code, etc.
Cryptology is a fascinating field of study. Encoding and encrypting information has extreme strategic value for an organization, agency, or government, which is why our society has been interested in complex coding and encryption for years. In fact, I would say the United States is pretty advanced in cryptology and cryptography.
Our advancement in complex encryption and sophisticated code gives our country a massive strategic and tactical advantage over our enemies, both in big picture national economic and military competition, as well as small scale operations like reconnaissance missions or small unit combat operations. I'm pretty sure we are probably far more advanced in cryptography and cryptology than even I am aware of, which is totally cool with me.
I don't need to know the dirty and not-so-dirty little secrets of the American system. I run my mouth too much and probably would get myself in too much trouble.
In honor of my troublemaking, I am going to talk a little bit about something called Kryptos, a set of encrypted information outside the Headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Virginia. Kryptos contains a set of encrypted information considered to be important to the history of cryptography.
From what I read, Kryptos is a rather beautiful set up. I've never been to Langley, so obviously I've never seen it in person. It's kind of its own little monument to Code, Cryptology, and of humanity's history with information and language in general. There are four main ciphers in this monument. Three of which have been deciphered and cracked. The fourth one, well, remains rather elusive to this day.
Since information analysis, cryptology, and language are so important for national security and the defense of our country, I thought I'd touch on coding and cryptology and name-drop the Central Intelligence Agency again in one of my posts during these trying times.
Name-dropping government agencies reknowned a little bit for being occassionally vicious, relentless, sometimes unforgiving, and much of their operations are done clandestinely, secretively, and in the shadows, and doing this all on public facebook posts, is now my new favorite pastime and leisure activity since hollywood is shut down and sports suck right now.
Oh well, you got to have fun and keep yourself entertained somehow. As wise old grandpas always say "idle hands are the devil's workshop." I don't know if my hands are doing the devil's work. I honestly think my posts and ideas are helpful, or at least can be to someone somewhere.
Anyways, before I digress too much, I want to talk a little bit about what I like to call the philosophy of Code.
In particular, I want to focus on the concept of an absolute code, or an absolute language. This code is the sovereign language that labels all facets of reality, both abstract and concrete, with their "supreme" label. That thing's "true name" so to speak. To some up this language, it is the meaning, symbolism, and labeling that is the perfect and complete code.
Hypothetically speaking, it is the language above all languages, the code above all codes, and this code describes existence and meaning in the purest, most flawless method, and the nature of substances, things, situations, and constructs are given their true "pure" label, untainted by primitive human tongues and writings. The true language. The language of higher authorities.
Now this is purely speculative and metaphysical, but it is good food for thought to end a post that name-drops one of the most powerful government agencies in the world that primarily deals with information gathering and analysis as well as other fun stuff I don't know about.
Thanks for reading!
