Singularity of Consciousness
Singularity of Consciousness:
Singularities are a fascinating thing. They are one of the most wondrous and intriguing concepts in physics. For starters, lets describe what a singularity is. A singularity is a point in space and time with infinite density and zero, or extremely close to, zero volume. A black hole is a singularity. The basic building block particle that provides the foundation of mass and matter in our physical existence can hypothetically be considered quite close to a singularity.
According to the "Big Bang" theory, the Universe's matter and energy was once a singularity that expanded and inflated into a the physical and spacial/time matrix that it is today.
Here is a hypothesis for you. Imagine that consciousness is distinct from basic matter and energy, and just like the singularity of matter and energy, there hypothetically could be a singularity of consciousness which predated the singularity of space, matter, and energy.
Now imagine each and every individual human or other conscious organism as being an isolated, individualized partition of this consciousness. To illustrate this concept in a way that might be more relatable, imagine the singular consciousness as an ocean of some liquid. In its singular form, this ocean is uniform and united.
Now imagine this unity, in it's singular, united state, as desiring, like any consciousness, to have company and companionship. As a result, it isolates and individualizes parts of that "liquid" consciousness into individuals to give itself company and companionship and relationship. Picture making a droplet that is isolated from the broader ocean into an individualized state. In doing so, this consciousness creates individuals, to keep himself company and provide a reprieve from loneliness.
Now imagine the necessity of a physical, spacial, and energy-based realm of existence in order to provide a platform by which these individualized, isolated components of this singular consciousness to interact in, play games in, and have relationships in, and that serves as a possible explanation for the function of the physical universe.
Even so, even as we humans and other forms of consciousness are individualized, we still have an aspect of ourselves that is still connected and entangled with the broader singular consciousness. A consciousness that in the simplest terms possible could be called "God." -
