Deception, a Short Discussion

If someone believes a lie that is beneficial to your agenda, why tell them the truth? Sometimes delusions are advantageous to the people who foster them and stand to lose something if the deception is discovered. From my experience, every human being has had delusions or lived under false pretenses at some points in their lives and many still live highly functional lives while believing in total nonsense. Im not talking about religion either. Religion is different. There is a nature about faith that destinguishes it from delusion, and that is the complete inability of people to invalidate it entirely, as well as its socially, culturally, and psychologically beneficial nature to the people who have it. The truth is not always in the eye of the beholder, but your perspective on the truth is. Truth is what actually exists, a lie may exist as a lie, but it is based on something that does not. There are many truths that we cannot see or have not encountered that are waiting to be discovered. These mysteries still exist, they just haven't been able to be understood or stumbled upon. There are many reasons people tell lies. A child will tell a lie to cover up the guilt of doing something wrong or to manipulate someone into giving you what you want. Adults do this too for similar and different reasons. Now some lies are told in the "big picture" arena to bring down an estabished way of doing things, to assault age old institutions and traditions, and to trick people into doing harm to innocent people. These lies are told to deceive with the intent to destroy. Even the people who perpetrate these lies actually believe them themselves. Since the lie has no foundation in reality, it eventually falls apart, but it can do IMMENSE damage before it does. Now the source of these lies are usually done out of hatred or spite, or envy and jealousy. These types of lies usually have a specific group or person they target, and the intent of the liar is to bring that person or group down and destroy the reputation, status, success, or even to terminate the life or lives of that group or person. They say that in war truth is the first casualty. This is how it starts. When you want to kill someone else, you have to find a way to justify it in your mind. Just like if you want to go to war with someone, you have to find just cause for it, and if you can't, and you really really want to go to war with some other country, you create the cause, and in that lies the deception. I don't fully understand deception psychology, but what i do know is the intent of someone to attack and degrade someone else through lies is fueled by hate, and hate fueled by things like envy, fear, and revenge. It is in our nature to do these things, and we all believe in some form of lie or delusion, we just may not be aware of it, and it advantages someone or some group that we believe in these things because it keeps us content to a point with our worldview and beliefs that we dont see ourselves as needing to seek out the truth because we feel we already have an answer.
