A Christmas Prayer
Merry Christmas to my friends and family across Montana and the nation. May the joy and peace of our savior Jesus Christ fill your spirits and hearts this Christmas. I hope for many things this Christmas, and here is a list of my hopes for you this joyous holiday.
If you are grieving someone who is spending Christmas in the house of God from now on, I hope you are given some comfort in knowing that the ones you love and have lost no longer are bound to a world of sin, death, and suffering.
If you are angry this Christmas, whether at a friend, family member, or neighbor, I hope you find peace and the strength and courage to forgive.
If you have hate in your heart this Christmas, I hope you are brought into the light of Love and compassion.
If you have jealousy in your eye this Christmas, I hope you are awakened to the spirit of God's generosity, and the inherent value of your spirit and the priceless qualities of who you are, and that you come to know that the value of a man does not come from what he has, but instead comes from how strongly he loves, how generously he gives, how truthful his words are, and how kind his actions are.
If you have fear in your mind and spirit this Christmas, I hope that the comfort and protection of the LORD and his countless host fall upon you and your family this Christmas, so that you can rest easy in the Grace and security of God. I hope that you do not succumb to the snares of fear and the trappings and pitfalls of loss.
If you are hurting this Christmas, I hope you find healing and nurturing for your wounded body, spirit, and heart.
If you feel condemned or guilty of something this Christmas, I hope you find the greatest depth of mercy and forgiveness that comes from God's steadfast love
And lastly, but surely not leastly, if you find yourself in darkness this Christmas, or in the midst of evil, I hope that the light of truth and rightousness and the holiness of God obliterate all darkness in your life, and overpower all the forces and agents of evil that attempt to destroy you.
I hope you all have a good Christmas.
